“For I am unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is the power of God for salvation…” Easier said that lived, to be sure. In this age in which we are living, it seems that more and more the voice of Truth is being overruled by the shouts of those who have an intolerance for anything but what they perceive as right for today. The Church has an opportunity to override that and become the voice “crying out in the wilderness” to speak hope and life into a world that is spiraling out of control. Jesus’ mandate has not changed in over 2,000 years, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel…and lo, I am with you always…” And yet, we for the most part, choose silence or worse yet, compromise, as we are lulled into the lie that we need to be sensitive not to offend in order to be accepted and heard. We must stand and not be ashamed in these last days no matter how difficult or uncomfortable it might become. We need to fully understand as Believers, that God’s Word is STILL true and the power and Presence of God WILL accompany those who are willing to love people enough not to leave them where they are. We must be willing to speak the Truth that will bring life and hope into a dying world. The government cannot bring us hope, neither can our own abilities, friends, laws or anything attached to this world. Our hope is only found in the life, death and resurrection of God’s Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ. It is time for us to stand and be counted as UNASHAMED, knowing that we have the true message that points people to the ONE who came to be THE WAY that connects them to a loving heavenly Father. A Father that loves them enough to send His one and only Son to die so that they can have eternal life. I love this quote attributed to Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892) “If sinner be dammed, at least let them leap to Hell over our bodies. If they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one go there unwarned and unprayed for.”
