Have you ever wondered what it would be like if we could look ahead into the future and see what the consequences would be for some of the choices we have made? Would it affect the way we live our lives? I say it would, but realistically I’m afraid we would wind up making our origninal decision fully knowing what was going to come out of it. Maybe some of you might differ with me and I would be glad to listen to your input, however so many of us I am afraid have the mindset that we are impervious to the traps others find themselves caught in. Somehow we have convinced ourselves that we are capable of encountering the same or similar situations and somehow have the magic powers needed to circumvent what others have fallen headlong into. Is that pride or just human nature? Jesus told Peter when he said that he would never betray him, “Truly I say to you that this very night before a rooster crows you will deny me three times.” Peter hearing those words said, “Even if I have to die with you, I will not deny you.” (Matthew 26:34-35) And what happens next is history.
