It has been great in recent months to see a fresh move among some of the ministers in our area as we come together weekly for prayer for one another, our congregations and community.  We are in the beginning stages we believe of learning what God’s idea of unity should really look like.  Jesus prayed in John 17 “I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.”  Here we are 2000 years later and the Body of Christ is still plagued with divisions that fall within such categories as: territorialism, denominationalism, prejudice just to name a few.  My question is this:  What would happen if the Church (Body of Christ) got angry enough to declare that the harvest was too big a task for us individually?  What could we (His Church) accomplish for our communities if we decided to come together and agree on the essentials to salvation and allow the non-essentials not to bring division but to remain respected between us?  It is so exciting to see that at least here in our community we are sensing a glimmer of expectancy as we are learning to pray together, work together and worship together.  It is hard work, but one in which we know from Scripture that the Lord desires.  Let our hearts cry out just as Habakkuk’s did, “”Lord, I have heard of Your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O Lord.  Renew them in our day, in our time make them known.”
